Teens brave 192-mile trek for scanner appeal

AN INTREPID teenager and his friends are about to walk almost 200 miles as a thank you to the hospital which is treating his father for a brain tumour.

Seventeen-year-old Struan Scott and friends Alistair Eddie (18) and Matthew Heron (17) are preparing to set out on Monday on a two-way trek of the West Highland Way.

“Outrage” over garden proposal

Killearn Community Council has failed in a bid to prevent a piece of land in a village housing estate being turned into a private garden.

Applicant Karen Lindsay had submitted application to Stirling Council planners for change of use and erection of a boundary fence next to 16 Rowan Crescent, which was discussed before Stirling Council’s planning panel at a hearing on Tuesday.
