West Highland Way among recipients of £3m cash injection

Some trails on Scotland’s famous West Highland Way will be improved with £750,000 in government funding.

The cash injection will be spent improving parts of the 96-mile-long route from Milngavie to Fort William.

A walking route in Scotland has been included on a US travel magazine’s list of the world’s best hikes.

The West Highland Way covers 96 miles (154.4km) from Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William.

Teens brave 192-mile trek for scanner appeal

AN INTREPID teenager and his friends are about to walk almost 200 miles as a thank you to the hospital which is treating his father for a brain tumour.

Seventeen-year-old Struan Scott and friends Alistair Eddie (18) and Matthew Heron (17) are preparing to set out on Monday on a two-way trek of the West Highland Way.
