Killearn keep the pressure on

KILLEARN maintained their position in the title race on Saturday when they joined the small number of visiting sides to have taken full points at Thornhill this season.

The reigning champions were without regular keeper Stuart Ashworth and his deputy Colin Banks. In their absence the gloves were given to utility man Chris Jewell and early on Chris had no more than a passing interest in fierce shots from Thornhill’s Andy Bailey and Gareth Killen. Fortunately for him and Killearn, both came back off the bar. The first goal of the match went to Killearn when Alan More scored the opener from the penalty spot.
