Talking Pictures TV launches on Freesat

Talking Pictures TV logoIndependent archive Film and TV channel Talking Pictures TV launches today on channel 306, bringing the best of time-honoured British cinema to Freesat viewers.

STV HD launches on Freesat

stv HD logoAt long last STV HD has been added to both Sky and Freesat.

On Freesat, STV HD can be found on channel 119.

On Sky, it launched on channel 178, except for Sky HD viewers in the STV West (Glasgow) region, where it will appear on channel 103, swapping with the standard definition version. This is because the version of STV HD matches the existing STV West standard definition channel, and therefore qualifies for a swap.

BBC to launch five HD channels

The BBC has announced that it will launch five new subscription-free HD channels, tomorrow (Tuesday 10th December 2013).

The new channels: BBC Three HD, BBC Four HD, BBC News HD, CBeebies HD and CBBC HD will be available on Freeview HD, Freesat HD, YouView and Sky HD. Viewers will also be able to catch-up on HD programmes from these channels on BBC iPlayer.

But only BBC Three HD and CBBC HD will be available to viewers in Killearn with Freeview and YouView. To watch BBC Four HD, BBC News HD, and CBeebies HD you will need to have Freesat HD or Sky HD.

BBC One Scotland to go HD on the 14th

Great news that BBC One Scotland will launch in HD next Monday.

Viewers in Scotland will need to reset any series links currently in place for recordings on BBC One HD when the new national variant goes live on the 14th January.

It will be available on Freeview and YouView (101) and Freesat (108). If you have Freeview TV/HD box or a Freesat HD box.

STV launches +1 channel

STV has launched an STV+1 service, allowing viewers to catch programmes their favourite programmes an hour later than usual.

From January 11, 2011, viewers will be able to access a huge variety of programmes one hour later than scheduled, giving them the chance to catch up on all their favourite news, sport and entertainment from STV.
