Dozens of Spar stores to end Post Office service

Dozens of Spar stores across Scotland are to close their Post Office counters over the next six months.

Operator CJ Lang & Son said it was “constantly reviewing” provision in its shops around the country.

RBS set to close two of its rural branches

People in two rural communities face a long drive to the bank because their local branches are set to close.

The Royal Bank of Scotland is closing its branches in Drymen and Blanefield on October 21 and 23 respectively.

Let’s just hope that Bank of Scotland does not follow and closes it’s branch in Killearn.

Join in a wheely fun event

Keen cyclists are being urged to sign up for a wheely special charity cycle run this June to raise cash for Glasgow University Cancer Trust.

Participants will set off from Drymen on Saturday, June 23 continue to Balmaha and then they will travel by ferry to Luss.

The event is sponsored by The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha, Killearn Garage, Pottery Tearoom, Drymen and Strathendrick Cycle Group.
