Two men are in a critical condition in hospital following a two-car crash on the A81 near Strathblane.

A Vauxhall Astra travelling north was involved in a head-on collision with a Dacia Duster travelling in the opposite direction at 14:10 on Sunday afternoon.

Repair to Ballat Bridge will run until spring next year

Scottish Water have come under fire after it was revealed that works to repair Ballat Bridge will run on until spring next year.

Motorists on the A81 are being warned to expect disruption to continue for another five months.

The work, which started in mid-September, was due to finish at the end of December.

Road closure at Balfron Station for approximately 3 months

We’re received an update from Scottish Water on their plans for the repair work to the bridge at Balfron Station.

Work will be starting work on bridge repairs on the 18th of September and we will be closing a section of the A81 for approximately 3 months. Road signs will start to appear as of next week preparing road users in the area for the closure.

Witnesses being asked to come forward for accident at Glengoyne Distillery

Central Scotland Police are appealing for information about a car and driver that hit a woman outside Glengoyne Distillery, Dumgoyne, near Killearn.

The incident happened on Sunday, January 6 at around 5.55pm on the A81 Blanesmithy to Blanefield Road.

Police name A81 crash fatality as Andrew Morrison

A 69-year-old man who died following a crash on the A81 in Stirlingshire has been named by police.

Andrew Morrison, from Erskine, died in hospital after the one-vehicle accident on the A81 between Ballat crossroads and Blane Smithy roundabout near Killearn about 08:10 on Wednesday.

Thieves steal portable office and toilet in Stirling

Thieves used a large vehicle with a crane to steal a portable toilet and temporary office from a Stirling Council yard.

The items, worth thousands of pounds, were taken from a locked site on the A81 at Dumgoyne.
