100mph winds cause chaos across Stirling area

Winds of up to 100mph battered Stirlingshire yesterday (Thursday).

More than 20 schools in the Stirling area were closed and the gusts brought down trees causing blocked roads and widespread power cuts.

Residents in Dunblane, Callander and Killearn suffered power cuts and many commuters were forced to stay at home because of blocked roads and suspension of trains across the entire rail network in Scotland.
